Makaton For ……. Emergency Services
This workshop is designed to help the police, fire, ambulance and community safety services to communicate more effectively with individuals with learning difficulties. This 3-hour interactive workshop is designed for emergency service teams who want to improve frontline communication, helping them to respond/be understood in emergency situations. These situations can be very stressful for people with communication difficulties and understanding what is happening is essential.
When: Dates and times by arrangement
Format: online or in-person as required
Session duration: typically 3.5 hours. Can be taught as one session or several separate sessions.
Minimum group size: 4 participants
Maximum group size: 12 participants (online) or 15 participants (in-person)
Cost: £60.00 per person or
Group Booking £250 + cost of manuals (number dependant)
What you’ll need
For online sessions you will require a computer fitted with a video camera & microphone (most tablet and laptop computers have these). A mobile phone is unlikely to be very satisfactory
An internet connection capable of running a video call.
To have downloaded the Zoom app in advance of the session.
To have provided your email address (at least the day before) so that we can send you the Zoom invitation for the session.
